Youth Training Program

Our Youth Wrestling program is the perfect entry point for kids ages 5 - 12 who are new to the sport. Designed to build confidence and character, this class introduces foundational wrestling techniques in a fun and competitive environment. 

M-Th: 5:00-6:00 PM

Open to youth and beginner wrestlers in grades 1-6 (Ages 5-12)

2026-27’ Middle School Folk Style Training Program

This program is for newer Middle School Wrestlers who are still developing core fundamentals.  We will focus on building a strong technical base through clear instruction, high-rep drilling and live situations. Wrestlers learn stance and motion, basic hand fighting, level changes, take downs and upper body mechanics. The goal is to develop confidence, improve mat awareness and prep for Middle School AND Club Competition.  

M-Th: 6:00-7:00 PM

Who: Middle School Wrestlers Grades 6-8 or ages 12-14

2026-27’ Middle & High School Folk Style Training Program

This program is for Middle School athletes with experience AND High School wrestlers who are developing. Training emphasizes sharper technique, chain wrestling and building a reliable scoring arsenal. Athletes work on advanced hand fighting, advanced finishes, counter offense and transitions. Sessions are fast‑paced, competitive, and focused while emphasizing discipline, toughness and Viking standards

M-Th: 7:00-8:00 PM

Who: Middle & High School athletes 13+

2026-27’ High School Advance Folk Style Training Program

This program is for Varsity Wrestlers preparing for duals, tournaments and the post-season.  We focus on high level technique, match mind-set, scoring from every position and intense live wrestling. We combine advance hand fighting with neutral offense and defense, advanced riding techniques, pinning combinations, escapes and reversals.  This is a demanding environment designed to push athletes to podium finishes.  

M-Th: 8:00-9:00 PM

Who: High School Varsity Wrestlers, Regional  and State Qualifiers

Friday Night Open Mats and Adult Wrestling

Wrestlers of all ages and experience levels are welcome — youth, middle school, high school, college wrestlers home on break, and even moms and dads who just want to roll and learn. It’s a relaxed, high‑energy environment where the room is open, the pace is athlete‑driven, and the focus is simple: get better, have fun, and build community.

Friday’s: 6:00- 8:00 PM

Adult Only: Every Sunday: 2-4 PM

Meet our Coaches

  • Joe B.

    Head Coach

    Joe brings over 9 years of coaching experience across youth, MS and HS Athletes, including time with the Talons and Mighty Eagles programs. Joe wrestled in Ohio, including 3 years in a D1 College program, where he mastered hand fighting and leg riding.  Before Viking Wrestling Club, Joe has spent the last several years coaching his two Boys, as well as other MS and HS athletes privately from his home or various mat rooms. Joe helps wrestlers stay aggressive, emotionally neutral, control matches using highly detailed tactics to ensure every movement is with purpose.

    Chris Cochrane

    Assistant Coach - Youth & Middle School

    Chris has over 15 years wrestling experience, including 3 years at the Collegiate level as a D3 wrestler and four years as a youth coach. He focuses on athletes developing strong foundational skills before advancing to more complex moves as well as promoting physical and mental toughness that will lead to self-confidence both on and off the mat.

    David Jukes

    Assistant Coach

    Dave started it all, as the former Head Coach of the Mighty Eagles and Talons clubs. Dave had a stellar high school wrestling career in California and is a technician on the mat. He’s also a member of the USAW region board as well.

    Joey Barabas

    Assistant Coach

    Joe (I call him Joey) Barabas wrestled from 3rd grade to his senior year in high school. Joey led a 4 year varsity career at Rock Hill and Walnut Grove where he amassed 113 wins, is a 2x district runner up, 2x region placer and 2x state qualifier. Joey specializes in running day camps for youth as well as advance techniques for middle, high schoolers and adults.

  • Huey Huynh

    Assistant Coach - Middle School and High School

    Best described as a very technical, competitive and goal-oriented coach. Huey is a former HS Wrestling Head Coach with 15+ years of experience. A 2X UIL 6A Coach of the Year, 2X 6A Regional Coach of the Year,5X District Coach of the Year and 2018 National wrestling Coaches Association Coach of the year for his contributions to the State of Texas.






    Catelyn Barton

    Assistant Coach - Youth Beginner & Middle School

    A 2025 Graduate of Frisco Memorial, 3 year varsity athlete and team captain. Catelyn is planning to enlist in the Airforce and aspires to help wrestlers in their craft and strengthen them mentally.




    Mark Sedwick

    Assistant Coach

    Mark has a distinguished career as a high school wrestler and wrestling for the military.  With a stellar background in Greco and Folk Style, Mark is an asset to the Vikings.
